Hello! It’s been a minute- or six months.
I haven’t posted for two reasons. First, the Dunning-Krueger Effect and imposter syndrome have been doing a special kind of dance in my head— more on that later. Second, 2020 had been a hard year to human, and it’s been challenging to convince myself to work on anything other than the highest endorphin writing, which often isn’t this blog.
This is the paragraph in which I considered trying to justify my absence by talking about how I’ve still been writing despite the pandemic. But you know what? I’m not going to do that because of one fundamental lesson I’m both trying to learn and teach.
Your productivity does not define your worth.
At this point in my career, I’m not under contract. No one is asking me to post more frequently. So what if I’ve been taking solace in less public comfort writing? We’re all human and all deserve comfort.
My friend, I hope you’ve been able to find some too.
